Guangzhou’s landmark tower and Pearl River waterfront, with skyline views from both sides of the river.

About this place
Why visit
Canton Tower is a useful landmark for understanding the modern riverfront, especially when its narrow silhouette is seen across the water. A skyline walk, river cruise and tower visit each produce a different perspective. Choosing one main experience leaves more time for the older neighborhoods and food culture elsewhere in Guangzhou.
Details worth noticing
- The tower’s slender structure
- Pearl River public spaces
- Buildings across the water
Before you go
Plan your visit
Choose a riverbank and one main perspective. A tower admission, observation attraction and river sailing have separate arrangements. Use a simple waterfront walk when that suits the party better than a scheduled attraction.
Check which bank and access point suit your plan. Observation attractions and river sailings have separate arrangements, so do not assume a waterfront walk includes either.
Nearby visits and onward travel
Zhujiang New Town is a useful riverfront companion when the crossing fits. Liwan’s historic lanes form a separate food-and-heritage outing.

Choose your view
Visit a specific tower attraction if arranged, or keep the afternoon for the waterfront and an indoor break. An optional sailing requires its own departure quay and timing.
- Finish
Cantonese dinner
Enjoy a seated Cantonese meal, with a short skyline walk if conditions suit. Keep the final bank and pickup location clear in the plan.
