Where to stay

Compare these areas by transport, nearby sights and the type of stay you prefer.

AreaGood forKeep in mind
Zhongshan Road / old SimingFood, arcaded streets and a first mainland-city stay. The tourist ferry terminal should be checked separately rather than assumed to be the nearest waterfront pier.
Island Ring Road coastA landscape-focused stay and more time by the sea.Old-city meals and arrival gateways involve separate transfers.
Yundang LakeA quieter urban base with waterside walks.Gulangyu and the southern coast remain distinct outings.

Getting there & around

Use Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport (XMN) for the flight arrival and give the full mainland hotel address for pickup.

Xiamen Railway Station and Xiamen North are different rail gateways.

For Gulangyu, select the actual tourist ferry departure terminal and island arrival pier before finalizing the rest of the day.

Season & daily pace

Choose coastal walking around the actual weather rather than a promised blue-sky season. In hot or wet periods, shorten outdoor segments and keep the ferry day flexible.

Choose your time, then make it yours
